December and January holiday hours for Public Health

Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health will provide essential services only from December 25, 2019 to January 1, 2020. Offices, clinics and classes will be closed during this time. Regular services resume on January 2, 2020.

Please see below for changes to the hours for urgent issues and specific services.

Urgent and emergency issues

If you have an urgent public health issue that cannot wait until January 2 (such as a disease outbreak, food-borne illness or animal bite), call 1-877-884-8653.

Well water sampling

Please drop off your water sample by 10 a.m. on Friday, December 20. We’ll resume collecting them Thursday January 2, 2020.

Breastfeeding clinics

The revised schedule for our breastfeeding clinics is as follows:

Healthy Babies Healthy Children (HBHC)

Please continue to complete and send HBHC Screens and other referral faxes to us for follow-up. The following services will NOT be available during the week of December 25 to January 1:

  • New Parent HBHC Telephone Contact
  • HBHC Home Visiting
  • Let’s Talk Parenting Information Line
  • Breastfeeding Clinics

Vaccine orders

  • Orders placed by Thursday, December 12 will be ready for pick-up or delivery the week of December 16, 2019.
  • Orders placed between Monday, December 16 and Thursday, January 2 will be ready for pick-up or delivery the week of January 6, 2020.
  • Delivery for North Wellington will run on December 16 and will resume the regular delivery schedule on January 6, 2020.

The regular vaccination distribution schedule will resume the week of January 6. If you need to speak with an on-call manager from December 25 to January 2, please call 1-877-884-8653. An on-call manager is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you have questions about your vaccine order, call  1-800-265-7293 ext. 4003.
