BH.05.OCT1116.R09 – Emergency Preparedness Update 

Dr. Mercer and L. Bowden reviewed Human Resources Committee Report BH.05.OCT1116.R09, as follows:

  • Report identifies that WDGPH maintains a comprehensive emergency preparedness program for the purposes of preparing for, and responding to, any community health emergency or an emergency with health impacts, as well as to internal emergencies that may impact the ability of the Agency to carry out its regular business.

BH.05.OCT1116.R10 – Bill 132 – Sexual Violence and Harassment Action Plan Act (Supporting Survivors and Challenging Sexual Violence and Harassment), 2016 

Dr. Mercer and L. Bowden reviewed Human Resources Committee Report BH.05.OCT1116.R10, as follows:

  • Bill 132 modifies six (6) Ontario Statutes including the Occupational Health & Safety Act which directly affects WDGPH.
  • In response to Bill 132, and to ensure continued compliance, WDGPH revised its Workplace Harassment Policy and Procedure in accordance with the revised regulatory requirements in order to protect the health and safety of our employees. The revisions reinforces WDGPH’s belief that any act of harassment is unacceptable.

Dr. Mercer and L. Bowden reviewed Human Resources Committee Report BH.05.OCT1116.R12, as follows:

  • This report is confirmation to the Human Resources Committee that WDGPH has a HR Strategy in place which is a requirement of the Ontario Public Health Organizational Standards (section 6.14).
